The New Release from Amrut distillery is and unpeated single malt matured in American oak and ex-bourbon casks, then Port pipes and back into bourbon casks. Named Portonova as there is a town called Parangipettai (Portonovo) in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, a territory that was under Portuguese control from the 16th to the 18 century.
